Santos Rivera - Jiu jitsu Instructor

Santos Rivera
Head Coach

Santos Rivera has been competing in martial arts, including wrestling and Jiu Jitsu, since he was in his youth. He received his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2017 and has dedicated his life’s work and passion towards coaching and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I love teaching Jiu Jitsu because I love seeing the positive benefits of my students over time. From gaining new found confidence and camaraderie to testing themselves in competition, it makes me feel good knowing I play a role in making someone’s life better because they chose to start training Jiu Jitsu.

Philip Olsen is the assistant coach at Legacy Grappling Academy. Philip received his BJJ black belt in 2019 and is dedicated to sharing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with his students and training partners at Legacy Grappling Academy. As a business analyst by trade, Philip enjoys focusing on the fine details of what makes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu work in practice, alongside the discipline, fitness, and self-defense skills that come with knowing Jiu Jitsu.

Training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has taught me so much about life and has helped me succeed in many other areas off the mat. It has provided me with discipline, confidence and a regular dose of joy. Being able to share Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with others and see students grow as martial artists and as individuals is the greatest reward. I have built lifelong friendships by training and teaching Jiu Jitsu. There’s nothing quite like it!
